Roof Shield™ Professional Installation

Installing any roof requires planning, attention to detail, and skill. Our Install Foremen have years of roofing experience and each crew member has received training by the manufacturer. We do the job right.

Roof Shield™ takes a systematic approach. By following the steps outlined below we are able to ensure a successful long-lasting installation that will significantly enhance the durability, energy efficiency, and aesthetic appeal of your home.

Planning – We conduct a thorough assessment of your existing roof, checking for structural issues, water damage, or repairs. Our planning involves calculating the number of materials and labor required to remedy any issues with the substrate. We work with the homeowner to select their metal shingle and color choice and develop a project timeline.

Safety – Roof Shield prioritizes safety. We provide training for the installation team and ensure they have the necessary personal protective equipment. OSHA mandates that we implement fall protection systems, correct scaffolding, and secure ladders to prevent accidents. We didn’t need a law to take these steps, we would have done them regardless because the protection of your property and the safety of our people is job #1.

Roof Preparation – We remove the existing roofing material and repair any damaged substrate. We ensure that the roof surface is clean, smooth, and free of debris before proceeding. Proper preparation is essential for the metal shingles to adhere securely to the substrate.

Underlayment – Our install teams lay roofing underlayment that adds a 2nd layer of protection against water infiltration. We use 3 types, traditional felt, synthetic, or self-adhesive. Our Foreman will make recommendations, but the type depends on the homeowner’s choice, and sometimes on local building codes. Proper underlayment installation is crucial for maintaining the integrity of the roof and preventing moisture-related issues.

Flashing – We install aluminum flashing in all vulnerable areas, such as any roof valley, around chimneys and vents. We also install an aluminum drip-edge around the entire perimeter to reduce the possibility of ice-damns. As with the underlayment, proper flashing is essential for preventing water intrusion and ensuring a tight seal.

Shingle Installation – The feature that makes Roof Shield™ Metal Shingles unique is each shingle locks tight to its neighbor, or locks to the special flange of the drip-edge, gable-ends, ridge, and valley inserts. The completed system creates a surface that is impervious to rain, snow, and wind.  Our team starts at the eaves and works upward to the ridge, building a straight, tight, impenetrable matrix along the way.

Inspection – We do a complete inspection at the finish, but with years in the roofing business we’ve learned that inspections need to take place once each course is laid. Continual inspections during the job are done to identify defects, misalignments, or issues that may compromise the system’s performance, and we address and rectify any issues promptly to ensure the roof’s long-term performance.

Final Clean-Up – Removing an old asphalt roof can be a messy job. Our team uses tarps attached to the roof edge to slide off the old materials to a confined area to prevent harm to your landscaping. Once the installation is complete, we scour the work area thoroughly for any remaining debris and use a magnet roller to find any hidden nails and scraps. We truck all debris off-site and dispose of it in an environmentally responsible manner.

Watch the Video - See How Our Shingles are Installed

In the video, Manufacturers Representatives Vardell Taylor and Jim Lepley demonstrate how Roof Shield aluminum shingles lock on all for sides to create an impermeable shield against the elements.

Roof Shield™ shingles are rated to withstand 165 MPH winds, and carry a Class A fire-rating. Unlike asphalt shingles they will never split, curl, or rot. And because they are aluminum they will never rust or lose their coating. If hit by golf ball size hail, foot-traffic, or heavy loads they will not damage.

Roof Shield™ backs our shingles and installation with a transferable lifetime warranty to provide long-lasting protection for your home.
